YOGA
"Yoga means union: union of mind and body, union of self_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d-136bad5cf58d-136bad5cf58d-136b the others...
it is a discipline that starts from the body and extends to meditation; works on the concrete to probe what is beyond. "
Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois
Yoga is a millenary practice able to revitalize the whole organism and to support the restoration of internal harmony and self-listening. Regular practice improves the attention and concentration capacity , promotes the competence of the immune system and contributes to maintaining a good health status.
ASHTANGA YOGA
Ashtanga Vinyasa is an ancient system codified by Master Pattabhi Jois which allows to develop a great vital energy. Vinyasa means breath synchronized with movement . Vinyasa develops heat, maintains the flow of energy inside the spine, purifies the body and thins the blood, contributing to the elimination of toxins. The practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga gives strength and flexibility to the
body and increased mental focus. The practice of Ashtanga involves the progressive and gradual learning of pre-established positions that form a sequence. There are three sequences of Ashtanga Yoga:
Yoga Chikitsa, or first series
Nadi Shodhana, or intermediate series
Sthira Bhaga, or advanced series
Fundamental elements:
UJJAY PRANAYAMA (breathing)
DRISHTI (gaze, focus, held in a specific point)
BANDHA (activation and conscious relaxation of pelvic and lower floor abdominal)
VINYASA (passages between the positions where the movement is synchronized with the breath)
ASANA (positions)
In yoga the mental attitude is as important as the correctness of the techniques and the postures themselves. Precisely for this reason, time is dedicated, both at the opening and at the closing of the sessions, to relax body and mind, listen to the breath and focus attention on the present moment.
